If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

I am not sure why you believe tiles mode is easier than console one. Is base damage of weapons increased in tiles mode?

You can see the descriptions of monsters, items etc.
I have to remind myself to use it on any new kind of enemy I encounter

After dying to new monsters many times I don't have this problem - I always go to wiki/knowledge bots. Some call it spoilers but I hate being unable to estimate how much damage I can get from melee monsters and spells are even more important.

You shouldn't die to worms, because unless you are playing a naga you are faster than them, and can escape at any time. If you are a naga, you can use poison spit (almost all bugs are extra vulnerable to poison).
rcnr wrote:As for centaurs, go behind a corner one square away from the edge, this will keep you out of sight until he closes in to round the corner, and you can use your first move to get into melee, when he will stop shooting you. You will use this move very often on any melee character. If you can't get to a corner, use a scroll of fog. Monsters won't shoot if they can't see you, and it will allow you to reach a corner.
