Changing controls?

I'm playing a little on crawl.s-z.org rather than locally on my laptop, and I cannot work out how to scroll down.

My laptop doesnt have a + key, I have to do SHIFT+=

However, I cant scroll down on anything in game, it just doesnt work, so I cant see some information that I need to when playing.

can I change these keys?

Also, is there any way to change the web trunk so that it runs in console mode rather than tiles? I prefer it.
