I generally (not completely) agree with the overall sentiment of this thread. Hydra form is quite strong, but extremely dangerous to use. Add to this it's heavy dependence on power and I would have difficulty recommending this spell for many characters in its current state.

I ordinarily prefer ASCII in roguelikes, but crawl I am just used to tiles.

It probably helps that our tiles blow most other tilesets I have seen out of the water, so major props to our tile maker people.

Yes it is functional. It's little weird in that it is based off of skill, but uses the full seven god titles, extrapolated over 27 skill levels.
