Re: Insane level 2 luck: DSBe

I'm not proposing using the 'wrong' brand on Draconians, etc. It's unusual not to have access to Vorp, Speed, Flaming, Freezing or Elec. Those are all fine for the mundane enemies in Zot.

Maybe it's the way I do Zot, or the characters I take there, but Draconians, Dragons, Killer Klowns and Orb Guardians are not usually scary. Are there any significant other vampable monsters?

The things that you usually get me in trouble are ALiches and ALiches.

Rings, late game armour, good aux armor early, solid wand. It wouldn't be that impressive on average, but for D2 it's pretty damn good. iirc I just cleared 1-15, going to go to either Orc or Lair next. I have an elec great sword and a flaming great sword so I'm pretty solid as far as that goes. I a...

How many !mut do you have? If you have anything like 3-5 then you're in a good spot to improve your mutation set and keep a couple of potions back, just in case. If you are down to one or two, I wouldn't use them, because Blurry Eyes is really bad and having a way to get rid of it is good. Edit: Off...

Turn visible was tied evocable invisibility, not spell invisibility. If you weren't wearing a +Inv item you couldn't turn invisible. It existed mainly for the purpose of convenience, because you could turn visible by removing the +Inv item. Now that removing a +Inv item no longer removes your invis...

To preserve your sanity it's probably easier just to wear those rF+ and rC+ rings. Otherwise you may need to x-v a lof of enemies and swap a lot of rings, or risk getting hit unexpectedly hard. The first pip of rF and rC do quite a lot, the other two or less important. AC is pretty powerful and work...

Sorry about the loss. If you can get to 14 runes and Tomb 3, then there's no real reason why you can't win a 15 rune game. Aura of Abjuration (you had it, but didn't look active when you died) and Control Undead (controlled scarabs are incredble) are really good spells for Tomb. Given that you still...

I've seen a few experienced players suggest that 'ninja'ing the orb' isn't a good idea in 0.21. The new orb status makes teleports quite slow, and a lot can happen between teleports. Sure, but even just moving, or being, outside of LOS can be useful. You can use it to prevent enemies from getting into LOS for example.

About enslavement, again, the effect should just break outside of LOS, or at least substantially reduce the duration.

This makes me wonder if allies (summons, undead, etc.) should just 'unravel' or 'fall apart' out of LOS, just like clouds. Thematically it would be easily justified. It would also weaken allies, although it would still be the strongest thing going I suspect.

Toxic Radiance still works very well in Vaults, and even in Depths. I would usually cast it twice, move a couple of steps, then ignite. Even with moderate spell power this kills enemies very quickly, including Vault Wardens, Invokers, Deep Trolls, Deep Elves, Boggards, etc.

Re: CiP: DrWn^Oka - Shoot, stab, riposte, bit of necro.

Yes, Deathcobs and Dracs are not the dangerous bits of Zot. A +8 greatsword of holy wrath should take care of cobs fairly casually. You have your acid and cloud wands, and lamp of fire against cobs if you need it.
