Summary | 0009290: Dithmenos Shadow mimic uncharms enslaved monster | ||||||
Description |
After (successfully) enslaving a monster, my shadow copied the action of casting Enslavement on that monster, thus uncharming it:Aiming: Enslavement Press: ? - help, Shift-Dir - straight line, f - flayed ghost, p - tengu reaver Aim: a flayed ghost (umbra) The flayed ghost is charmed. Your shadow mimicks your spell! The flayed ghost is no longer charmed. The flayed ghost resists with some effort. I think if you succeeded at enslaving a monster, your shadow should not try to copy you, because of this outcome. If you failed, you obviously want the shadow to try again. If the monster was already enslaved, but you're now trying to do nasty things to it, your shadow should copy those nasty things. (your slave has outlived it usefulness, so you're now trying to kill it while there are no other threats around) |

Adding to this that this is reproducible: The eight-headed hydra is charmed! Your shadow mimicks your spell!!! The eight-headed hydra is no longer charmed! _The eight-headed hydra resists with some effort! The eight-headed hydra is charmed! Your shadow mimicks your spell!!! The eight-headed hydra is no longer charmed! The eight-headed hydra resists with some effort! I believe this is occuring because Enslavement is considered a hostile action; thus, when your shadow mimic copies Enslavement (and fails due to lower spellpower), the creature you successfully enslaved becomes uncharmed. |

Should be fixed by http://s-z.org/neil/git/?p=crawl.git;a=commitdiff;h=4575273 [^] |

Verified fix (as far as I can tell: tried it about 20 times in wizmode, and my shadow only mimicked when the creature resisted my casting) |
