Summary 0008048: Swamp Vaults
Description swamp_mausoleum- Waterlogged tomb that has seen better days. Swamp ending.
swamp_kobolds- Kobold demonologists living out their pathetic existences in marshy huts, because no one wants them anywhere else.
swamp_pet_leeches- Bloodsucking residence.
swamp_minitomb- Smaller version of the ending that inspired its creation.
swamp_slimy- Someone built a magical fountain and then forgot about it.

Feedback and criticism to help hone my vaultmaking is always appreciated.

I will mostly likely push this with heavy edits, but for the sake of feedback systems I'll list out my thoughts on the bunch for future reference and what I'll be predominantly changing things around.

 * I think the mausoleum is too far removed from the style of other swamp end vaults to be good as an end: it's far too sectioned-off per monster grouping to fit in well compared to the very open and small or out-pour centered passage current ends. I also don't feel too great about a second vault focusing on less swamp-based or thematically-connected monsters and a second undead-centered swamp end. As such, I'd rather see the vault nerfed a bit and then made into a regular large swamp vault instead of an swamp end vault. Also, the plain mummies are pure-annoyance at the depth, and I'd cut them.
    * Also, sheesh, this header is quite messy. The KFEAT: tDE is redundant with a SUBST (and this is already done in part by using SUBST: D !), the KMONS arrangement is a mess, there's no overall order from line to line. It took me multiple takes to read the whole thing; it is imperative that with more complicated vaults one either sticks to defining areas per explicit segment or in the default name-tags-depth-orient-monster-item-features-randomization order.
 * Human zombies/skeletons/etc (as opposed to most implied-as-human undead) are worthless monsters by depth, and have a very awkward base due to plain humans being both very weak and not really monsters outside of rare and silly shapeshifter circumstances; it's been a very uncontrolled mess to use humans so freely. Considering the breadth of player species in Crawl, it's usually an easy thing to use "actual-monster" player species monsters by depth (see ice cave simulacra), or some nearby regular-spawn humanoid zombies: I'd consider spriggan zombies here, for example, or at least not-exactly-out-of-place troll zombies well before human zombies.
 * An incredibly small nitpick, but: vaults should always be wider than taller, so when it'd be trivial to do so, like _swamp_slimy, it should be sideways. I usually use [^] for this.

The minivaults are fine, for the most part.

...also forgot to mention: the mausoleum has a bucketload of teleport closets that should be handled in the same manner as the vampire vault, and the vampire should have some generic equipment defined instead of solely a potion.
