Those are just converted balls of seeing to maintain save compatability since they were removed - they won't generate in new games and will be gone from existence entirely when the major save version is bumped.

In my most recent game all artefact books are having the same issue.

For example:
Sif Muna's Almanac of Cold (god gift)

ERROR: no desc for item name 'the book of Fixed Theme'
