Summary | 0000401: Sort "find" results by travel distance | ||||||||||||
Description |
The stash tracker sorts results by "distance", which is the number of stairs you need to traverse. Other than that the order appears to be arbitrary. It would be a great improvement to have it sort by actual number of moves required to get there, at least on the current level. |
||||||||||||
Additional Information |
Original bug report: Sorting find results by distance seems to be rather horked in dev, recently: 1) If your initial sort order is distance, switching to alpha sort and back again will often (but not always) give you a different order than you had initially. 2) Neither order is correct anyway. The first issue isn't entirely reproducible. I can't be sure that I've seen it in the absolute latest trunk build, but I know that I saw it as recently as a 7-10 days ago. The second issue seems to always occur.Version: 0.6.0-a1-2168-g577f5d3 (CDO) |

I've noticed this as well, but kept forgetting to report it. Going to the supposedly closest item will often ave me run across the level, and then back again when I go to the next, etc. I believe this was working correctly in stable. |

The "distance" is merely the number of levels between you and the item, distance inside level doesn't matter. This is indeed surprising, and a deficiency. |

Moved to feature requests: this is not a bug, but a missing feature. |

henryci said he'd be able to do this if we reminded him to do it, though I haven't seen him on IRC for a while... |
