Summary | 0003002: Naga/Centaur ghosts use humanoid base tiles | ||||||
Description |
My wizmode-generated (&Ctrl-G) ghost of a NaEE, when loaded, was displayed with a humanoid shape, legs and all. Centaur ghosts also don't show up with the corresponding shape tile. I haven't yet encountered any such ghosts over the course of a normal game, but I suspect this applies to normal ghosts as well. EDIT: As KiloByte points out, Felids are also subject to this. |

Same for lich and statue forms. I recently played a multi-Zig felich -- who happened to be my first non-debug game where I actually used Necromutation, and I dreaded how it would look in tiles: a kitty turning into a cloaked human. This may cause confusion and bug reports, too, as tiles players may assume they turn into a human skeleton rather than a skeletal cat/centaur/naga, and thus can use gear they can't in their natural form. |

Oooh, good point. How _would_ a lich kitty look? We do have skeletal centaur/naga tiles - but using those is likely to be confusing. Maybe with some dark glow around? |

For centaur and naga Necromutations, how about using these tiles? For felids, since they don't wear anything, they could just use the small quadrupled tile with a shadowly glow or a hood and cloak or something. |

(Note that I didn't make these from scratch - I merely spliced the default Necromutation tile with the skeletal centaur/naga tiles.) |

For felids, it might be a skeleton cat with red eyes -- or perhaps, something like this: http://www.funz.eu/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Skeleton-Cat.jpg [^] |

Overlaying the skeleton tiles with the lich one - nice. :) |

Thanks, psyshvl! I didn't precisely apply your tiles, but I retraced your steps, merged my versions with yours and modified the results. Hope that's okay with you. :) |

That's perfectly fine. |

Resolved because Fe/Ce/Na have had special tiles for lich form/statue form/player ghosts for a while now. |
