This is a balance request. An ancient lich's chain lightning spell, which he can cast due to a recent patch, is so dangerous to high-ev low-ac melee characters that it should be nerfed. It can easily cut away 70% of an extended endgame character's HP in one turn, and unlike LCS it's undodgeable/unblockable. And there is no way to predict whether or not the ancient lich can cast it, so you don't know if you must use a potion of resistance or swappable jewellery to get rElec until it's too late.

This character (a melee octopode) had 9 runes and had just killed cerebov in melee, and was going back through the abyss to get some things from the dungeon. An ancient lich two-shotted him with chain lightning, the first shot dealing Note: 0000120 undodgeable unblockable damage, leaving him with no way to survive the next turn. I think a character capable of meleeing Cerebov should not be two-shotted by any non-unique.
Frankly, with paralysis, there were already enough ways for high-EV low-AC characters (felids, octopodes, sometimes tengu) to unavoidably die. Let's not add more and make the build unviable. |
