Summary 0001144: Beogh should prevent orcs from being raised as undead allies
Description When you simply butcher an orc you're told "Beogh expects more respect for your departed relatives," so why is he okay with turning them into undead monsters? It'd be best if animate dead (and death channel) completely ignored orcs when following Beogh - give it flavor where Beogh's shielding the corpses from the magic, if you like. This should apply to both you and your companions, including orc followers, summons, temporarily enslaved monsters, and whatever else can raise corpses. Beogh worshippers shouldn't ever be accompanied by shambling orc corpses or enslaved orc souls, basically. It goes against the god's flavor pretty heavily.

I'm filing this as a bug because making orc abominations and using sublimation on orc chunks both result in a piety hit already. Simulacrum doesn't, at least not in .6.

So do orc sorcerers, so? Enemy orc priests are heretics regardless.

I'm pretty sure that (as in the real world) heresy is determined retroactively based on which faction survives.

And raising an orc's corpse could be explained as helping the orc to continue assisting your crusade in Beogh's name. It's somewhat inconsistent, but not really enough to actually be a bug.

I found this really annoying, as I wanted the orc corpses to pray over to get piety. Along with the inconsistency mentioned here already.

I agree, Beogh should be against it (and enemy priests heretics).

Friendly orcs no longer cast animate dead if you worship Beogh. As for players casting it, you already do get a piety hit for doing so -- specifically, you don't get the piety for praying over their corpses.
