Summary 0002481: Mummy sublimation of blood use inconsistent
Description Mummies are unable to use blood based effects like berserk, as they have no blood in their bodies, so I find it odd that mummies can cast sublimation of blood on their own bodies, and still receive MP. I know, it's not like mummies need anymore nerfs, but it is inconsistent.

It appears that the removal of scumming was a severe blow to a race which was already weakest. Yet, SlyShy is obviously right here.

Let's disallow submlimation for thematic/realism reasons, and then buff mummies in some other way. Thoroughly.

As for mummies buffs, consider a MR buff. Since the hard mummies are all magic immune, it's puzzling that my mummies gets banished every time I see Louise, even with MR gear. Really though, mummies are just weak in every regard. Some better aptitudes might help. But mostly, healing is very difficult without a wand of healing, so being able to use Borg's would be a huge buff.

Sublimation could be addressed through a flavor change, I think. Instead of fluids, have the spell work off of residual life-force or the like - much like the nebulous stuff that is currently absorbed through vampiric draining and vampiric brands. The undead are powered by something, after all, and sublimation would draw from whatever that is in a direct way that avoids vampiric draining's backlash. Call it "sublimation of essence," perhaps. You'd probably want to open this to bloodless vampires, too, though their satiation could be tied to "essence" if you want to keep it restricted.

Needless to say, you'd remain unable to drain health from chunks; these are different spells entirely.

Mummies (and Liches) can no longer cast sublimation on themselves.
