1. A rectangular room full of monsters and/or items. They can appear in almost every branch, even the Hells and Zot.
2. The possible special rooms are kobold room, orc room, killer bee room, jelly room, and morgue (all sorts of undead).
3. Often referred to as pits, especially by people with Angband backgrounds. Distinguished from vaults by having variable sizes and being mostly homogenous.
