Spread the light, my child.
Gretell says...
kobold (K)

A small, greyish creature with the look and temperament of a feral dog. No one knows for sure where kobolds come from, but ancient demon-gods, evil spirits, and meddling wizards have all been suggested as culprits.

Speed: 10 | HD: 1 | HP: 3-5 | AC/EV: 2/12 | Damage: 1 | weapons, items, doors | Corpse | XP: 1 | Size: small | Intelligence: human.
Henzell says...
  1. A monster found in early dungeon. Also comes in {kobold brigand} and {kobold demonologist} varieties. The player species is {small}, like {halfling} and {spriggan}, and has 3 levels of {nightstalker} (LOS reduction and stealth bonus). Good at shortblades, crossbows, and evocations. Also good at stealth and dodging, and has a high XP aptitude like {human}, but has -20% HP.
  2. One of the three main causes of early-game mage death, thanks to spawning fairly often with stones or poison darts.
  3. Prior to 0.26, did not have the nightstalker mutation.
  4. While the true nature of the Kobold remains a mystery, some ancient texts have described it as "a sort of brown moth".
