+> I'll add some notes on this old topic. For now, Phase Shift is gone, and it's fairly understandable. But what if we try to make this buff a more situational and at the same moment add to it some flavour? What if these shifts are only partially controllable, so the player may phase out both at attacks on him and //on his own attacks// (causing them to miss, too)? Of course, the control would become better with more spell power (or perhaps directly with the Translocations skill), reducing this chance, but it must still be significant enough, so this spell wouldn't be used in every combat, but only for some specific cases (e.g. many Fireballs expected in a short time) or for escaping.

 +> Some more ideas:
+> * Phase Shift could trigger even at stabbing, causing it to fail too (but if the monster was sleeping, it might not awake), so for stabbers it will be even more situational.
+> * What about spellcasting? Well, every spell that should go off at the external space (e.g. all conjurations, many hexes) can instead be launched "phased", so this projectile will be lost as well. At the same time, buffing yourself is safe (because the target phases with the caster).
+> * Maybe we should make these shifts SH-like, i.e. reduce the chance with every successful shift during the turn (not close to zero though - capped from below at something like 10%)? So this spell would excel in one-to-one combat, but become much less useful when facing several foes at ones. The flavour is that to shift at just the necessary moment we need some concentration, which is hard to get several times in a row (or just some good luck).
+> * And even more fun, if we make possible to cast this spell not only on yourself. Imagine Lom Lobon under its effects, phasing out and glaciating something in the other world instead of you! (Of course, he can dodge your Crystal Spear as well)
 +>
+> The last moment - just a joke, but who knows... What will happen, if you shift on your attack on blink frog and //it shifts to evade it at the same moment//? Perhaps it could be a stabbing attack on unsuspecting enemy?..
