Comments about Trog, the berserk god go here.

  • Trog's berserk power should also berserk any allies capable of rage you happen to have. This is not so common for Troglodytes, but can be arranged: the wand, or cards. This distinguishes Trog rage a bit from other forms of berserk and can be a nice tactical bonus. As (almost) all allies for a Trog follower are temporary, there is a risk.
  • The books were never intended as handgrenades, only as mines. In other words, I am fine with dropping+burning, but not so much with throwing+burning. There are two possibilities for that:
    1. Books are defined to fly awkwardly. In other words, only one space. That's very realistic and solves the problem.
    2. If you try to throw the book somewhere, success depends on Throwing skill. This way, dedicated throwers could use the books as grenades, but your run-of-the-mill Troglodyte could not.
What is your reasoning behind not wishing books to be used as grenades? I like to think that it rewards players for using a fun power in a creative and non-obvious way, and it's not like Troglodytes don't have access to more straightforward means of doing damage at range if they so choose. — Wensleydale 2010-10-07 10:21
Well, mainly that I didn't intend it when I suggest book burning. It's not really urgent and perhaps it is actually better like this. — dpeg 2010-10-07 21:34

  • Centaurs play well as berserks, but they are not recommended in the selection screen. Main problem is food, but Centaurs make this up with there movement speed: When I find myself in front of some monsters, but I'm too hungry to berserk, I retreat (Centaurs are fast), eat some stuff and berserk. Quite interesting way to play: it's a combination of tactical retreat and berserk attacks. Especially when leaving Trog, its easier to escape his summoned creatures using the Centaur's speed.

  • Nerf/prevent BiA leaving LOS. It's cowardly yet effective to use them as ballistic missiles and wait for “You feel more experienced” messages. Trog should not support this.
