- This was my first DrMo (first ever, not first win) and first non-TSO/Vehumet extended game.
- A D:2 Fedhas altar with immediate ** piety trivialized everything up until Vaults. One or two Wandering Mushroom buddies kept me safe from every conceivable harm.
- Mottled Draconian breath attack (Sticky Flame) illuminates invisible enemies! But so does Fedhas's Sunlight, so it was a bit redundant.
- Wandering Mushrooms seem to lose power in Vault, but Oklob plants are always amazing.
- In emergencies, Grow->Evolve. I'd recommend two. (Can an Oklob still fire if you're standing on it?)
- In difficult, but non-emergency situations, get plants by using Rain to save fruit. This makes for very effective stair-dancing.
- Don't bring your fruit to Shoals. Stupid Harpies...
- I swapped to Jiyva for extended because I had no rMut.
- ****** piety was basically instant when I fed my Lair stash to Jellies.
- Jiyva didn't think I needed much Str and dropped me to THREE Str at one point in Hells. I've heard Draconians confuse Jiyva's formulas because they have no EV penalty (no armour), but I think Statue Form (+2 Str) made it worse because it'd often be dropped while I was in Statue Form and when I came out of form I'd immediately be burdened. I basically stayed in Statue Form for Cocytus and Gehenna because there was nothing else I could drop!
- Jellies eat every goddamn thing.
- Innate rMut, rCorr, Cons, and never being Hungry is a tremendously convenient way to play Crawl.
- Fedhas's wrath is a joke.
- Formless Unarmed Combat does plenty of damage (even with shield), but Blade Hands does silly huge damage. Still, many fights (Cerebov, Gloorx) needed Statue Form for the rTorment, period-no-matter-what-don't-care-what-you-say, especially considering that I was getting some of my rX pips from artefact shields. Blade Hands was optimal for anything that definitely wasn't going to kill me, but I'd say I never suffered from the speed penalty of Statue Form, and if I could only learn one of the two spells, I'd pick Statue Form every time (for extended). That said, Blade Hands is now my favorite spell in the game.

- This was my first time casting Abjuration (tremendously useful against summon-Liches), first Mf win, first Ash win, first time Summoning anything but TSO's buddies and Trog's BiA, and first EV-based melee win. It was also my first time casting cTele VS Guardian Serpents in Snake Pit.
- This guy was well-positioned for an Ashenzari extended game, with an rC++ cloak, rF++ large shield, and Statue Form for Torment. Still, I decided to ascend with 3 runes.
- I'd recently won the DrMo using Statue Form.
- I've already splatted an ascending MfGl to a D:26 Pan Lord (tried to fight it...) and another to Gloorx Vloq; I wanted to win with an Mf and quit fucking playing them.
- After the DrMo success, I'm excited to try more different combos!
- An early Randart spear of draining and +2 rPois Chain Mail got me through Lair, and I swapped to Mottled Dragon Armour, grabbed a vanilla Bardiche, and started training spells.
- I learned Summoning because it was my only decent spellbook around the time I was looking for places to dump XP (this happened quickly with Mf apts in Polearms and Dodging). It turns out that Summoning is very compatible with polearms' reaching attacks.
- Summon Shadow Creatures is hilariously powerful in Zot. Summon Ugly Things was more useful before that.
- The Shadow Creatures summons say nice things to you in your combat log!
- I skipped Orc, Elf, Blade, Crypt, dove Swamp, and still won at XL27 with way more XP than I could spend. I'll probably make this a habit, but it's worth noting that I didn't find Haste until V:5.
- I didn't find rMut and it didn't matter.
- An Orb of Fire did massive damage when I forgot to swap in an rF ring for a second pip.
- I superlove Ashenzari's innate sInv and Clarity, as well as knowing what every item in the game is. Jiyva and Ashenzari are competing for my favorite god-spot now.
