What are the (+'s) and (-'s) after items on the find page?

I noticed some numbers in parentheses (+1), (-4), etc. after items on the find screen.

What do they represent?

i.e. ...

7 matches, stack by dist [a-z: travel ?/!:action -: stacking /: sorting]
a - [D:2] a +0 animal skin (+1)
b - [D:2] a goblin corpse
etc...

It means there are multiple items on the same tile as that entry. Other items in the same tile will not get a separate entry in the search engine, otherwise the [L:2] a potion of brilliance (+162) in your Lair 2 stash would overwhelm any search for potions, to name one example.

If you press '-' while looking at the search results, it will stack and unstack the groups.
