MiBe - insanity in progress
Holy crap!
Was thinking to follow in the footsteps of cerebovssquire and dive all the way to level 27 after the lair. Well, things were hairy but manageable until I hit D19, which was one big room where I promptly got assaulted by a herd of skeletal warriors backed up by Yaktaurs, so I moved toward them, taking a crap load of damage with each step. So I initiate teleport, then invoke rage. I teleport while still raged into another herd of Stone Giant zombie, Mottle dragon zombie and other assorted nasties, but at this point low on health so teleported again, this time right into the presence of Louise who promptly banished me to Abyss!
I've never seen the Abyss so stacked full of nastiness haunting my every move. I was promptly completely surrounded by demons Hellwings, Smoke Demons, ynoxinuls, neqoxec.. I am running low on health, I put on my teleport ring (my invocation sucks so only 50% chance to activate). I end up using up all my teleport scrolls and sucked up all the juice out of my teleport wand. Trog saved my @ss Brothers in Arms to the rescue. They stacked up 31 collateral kills of nasties like Reaper, Shadow Dragon skeleton, 2 large abominations, 6 hellwings, 7 smoke demons etc (check the code for the full list) anyway.
To make a long story short, I used up all my heal wounds pots, so I'm spamming Trog's Hand to get my health up before the next gang rape scene, and I walk around the corner right run face to face (melee range) with a Green Death. (of course I don't have resist poison, since I dropped my randart rpoison staff to save weight since rpoison is not so important (following the advice of cerebovssquire) Green Death promptly poisoned me, but I was able to activate my teleportation ring, which conveniently teleported me near an Ancient Lich who greeted my arrival promptly with an energy orb that wiped out half my health. Fortunately the teleport ring passive effect kicked in and shortly found the exit from the Abyss.
Only a total of about 450 turns in the Abyss, but my god... so much insanity in that space of time that it made the rest of the game seem like preschool. On a last note, I had no neg resistance.. not a good thing to be without down there..
So barely survived, but not without scars..

Also on one of the early levels of the dungeon I drank from a fountain and it gave me a couple of mutations.. slow regen and badly fitting armour. I didn't know fountains gave mutations.. otherwise I wouldn't have taken the chance. I only have one pot of Cure Mutation in my stash.. should I use it or wait to see if I can find 2 of them, in case I get teleportitus or something?
Needless to say, I'm now paranoid about going below level 19 and I'm heading to Orc Mines now and I'll leave Louise alone until after I clear it and the Lair branches...
