The Ring of Charms

This lovely ring bestows on the wearer a strange glamour that makes those of his or her kin likely to be friendly.

Has anyone used this ring successfully?
What if you are a dwarf, I don't remember ever fighting dwarves in the dungeon.

I just met a dwarf on level 23, this must be a new monster in 0.8, don't remember seeing them before.
But how about the ring, is it any good?

You're going to have to try it and tell us=P Having a Wiglaf buddy sounds handy in case you meet Boris or something. No telling if he'll stay with you after you take it off. I found mine on a high elf=/

Why the frowny face? Did it not work because all the elves in the dungeon are deep elves? If so, laaaaaaaame. :p

Still, how awesome would it be for some of the high end nasties in elf:7 to go turncoat?

Re: The Ring of Charms

It's useless and has basically zero chance of ever charming anything good.

The actual check is some horrifically ugly XL vs monster HD roll, but it'll never charm anything higher than HD 14 (or something like that).

So it's basically just a pretty ring ... costs nearly 3,000 in the shop.

It has just been removed.
