Just came across this - fixedart? In any case, I present to you:

The Cursed -5 Robe of Misfortune {-CAST MUT+ *TELE EV-4 Str-2 Dex-2 Int-2 Stlth-- Curse}

Definitely the worst item I have ever found! And I ID'ed it by putting it on. Suck.

With a KoBe in in a 0.4.5 game, I found this early on and it carried me all the way until Zot 2:

A long time ago, I found a nice hammer randart. Can't remember the name, but it had these: +1 attack, Holy Wrath, rF+, rC+, rElec, rN+, Lev (or Blink, I'm not sure).

This isn't really best or worst, but interesting because I didn't know knives could be artifacts:

The  +0,+2 knife of Azxijafi {venom, MR, SInv}

This takes me from "somewhat" to "extremely" resistant to enchantments, so that's nice.

sitting out in the open in the vaults. While playing a kobold.

The only reason I have 13 skill points in Polearms on my paladin:
+8, +3 Spear of the Jester, drain, rPois, rC+, SInv

Served me well through Hive, Lair, Shoals, and Swamp until:

+11, +4 Double Sword of Destiny, Slice, +Lev, Dex +2

Sadly I left behind the +3 Crystal Plate Mail in my stash due to +Curse and -3 Str. Keeping it company is the +7 Dwarven Plate Mail of Ponderousness. Though I am currently clomping around in the +3 Plate Mail "Shrinil" rPois, rC+.

The cursed -5, -5 morningstar of Greatest Utility (pain, EV+5). Literally in the next room to the ring of the Shining Light (Ice, AC-5, Int+3).

Neither of them are terrible, but so far I'm having the Game of Mediocre Randarts (there's also a randart quarterstaff of pain with the Stupid Name lying around on the floor somewhere too).

(This is the same game where I found the Singing Sword right at the beginning, which would have been more exciting were I not playing a DDNe *mutter*).

This was pretty neat via Acquirement scroll:

the +6 pair of gloves "Gheomix" {rElec, rF+, Dex+2}

I don't recall ever seeing +6 gloves before.

The best Sewer loot (D:6) I've seen so far:

the ring "Zoavuqeit" {rF++ rN+ EV+5 SInv)
+2 pair of dwarven boots of running.

(plus a Book of Wizardry, scroll of Blinking, some gold)

The (same) Game Of Medicore Randarts continues... my XL18 DDNe just found the trident "Foesh" (Freeze, STR+2).

OK so it's not as terrible as some of the other things he's found, but, like all the other randarts he's found, it's not super likely to displace his entirely home-made +5/+6 broad axe of pain.

The amulet and sling are incredible. The sword isn't the best in the world, but all the stacked stealth is worth it.

Holy crap that's awesome. Draconians get a 0 to polearms, so it's not like you have negative aptitudes to worry about there.

Pain is best on fast weapons, and you can't get slower than a scythe (they also have bad base damage). Nice resists at least.

@ MarvinPA: sure, scythes are probably the worst weapons in terms of speed/damage ratio, but still, a scythe's base damage of 14, plus 11 from the enchantment, plus up to 27 from pain? I'd like to find something like that. What I do find instead is a near infinte supply of +1 leather armors {Int-2 Dex+1} or worthless crap like that.

Damage enchantment isn't the same as base damage, but sure. That demon whip, on the other hand, is unbelievably good.

I'd switch to that dwhip anyway wow. If I recall correctly, you only need 10 m&f skill to get it to its minimum delay, too.

Indeed, I'm considering taking this guy to the extended endgame while pursuing a side career as a whip user. The problem is I've had no luck with randarts other than the whip iself and at level 26 my Int is only 22 (and it doesn't even stay that high for long, as my Crystal Ball of Energy frequently takes it to single digits ) since all automatic stat gains have been to Dex, and I found no +Int gear, which means I NEED the staff of energy to cast my beloved lvl 7 spells.
My reason says "forget about it", but I've never used a demon whip before, let alone a speed-branded one (all my favourite races seem to get better aptitudes for short/long blades, so that's what I end up using most of the time). Temptation is so high
Btw it takes 12 in maces&flails to max out its speed.

Oh right, minimum useful delay on that is 6 which becomes 3 due to speed.

I have never received a randart with over +5 stats that i could use.
And i've made it to Zot:5 twice...

After going to hell and back (literally) trying to find some good resistance armour for my Troll Paladin (to avoid swapping rings back and forth) I finally found what I needed in a Zig:

Maybe someday I'll see such a thing. For me even just seeing a randart in a shop is a sure indicator of sudden doom.
