New Tavern Challenge: Thank Streak

A thank streak is when you have several posts in a row that all get thanked. For example if you make 3 posts and they all get thanked, but then make another post and it doesn't get thanked, you have a thank streak of 3. Even if your next post gets thanked your longest thank streak is still 3, you have to have them in a row without breaking the streak with thankless posts.
Posting for thank streaks is a lot different from regular posting. You want to stick to safe posts like asking to bring back removed features, links to commits or patches in your name (doesn't matter if they work or not), dick jokes, and proposals to overhaul demigods. Avoid risky posts that could break your streak. For example, XTAHUA's high-risk posting style gives him a staggering 333% thankrate but his longest thank streak is only 4, and the high post count strategies of minmay and crate give impressive thankcounts but their postscumming means their thank streaks are quickly broken. I don't know what the code is like, but would it be possible to show active thank streaks on the main tavern scoring page?

I always do the equivalent of tab tab tab and end up Yet Another Thankless Post. This game is hard. Need some more strategy guides. Or at least rcfile for tavern with prompt option "Are you sure you want to post that?"

Duvessa: It's also a valid strategy to try to name as many specific people in your post as possible, to increase the odds that they'll thank you for posting about them. For example, arrhythmia is an all around excellent individual, and a regular thanker. Their high consistency makes them an excellent choice, but many others like Sar, Mageykun, Sandman, XuaXua, etc are good choices. Hirsch I is a ne'erdowell, and should be avoided and all costs, but I do think I have heard that an individual who goes by the name of "TotallynotHirsch I" is a well endowed gentleman.

Callouts to legends of old such as Grimm or Confidence Interval may get you nostalgia thanks from other old timers, but it is unlikely that they themselves will see your post to thank you.

If you're up for more of a challenge, you can analyse dungeon crawl (I'm not entirely sure what this game is but people talk about it sometimes) and hope to get a thank from crate or duvessa, but you need to do research to find out what they already support, and be especially careful if you're targeting crate thanks, as many posters will get his POV slightly wrong and then you will only get a correction rather than a thanks.

If all else fails, before you give up and make your next post, send a PM to sandman and tell him you can't change your post count until you get a thanks on your last post because you're thank streaking. He'll understand and help you out. One doesn't get to the top of the members list without understanding how to play tavern streaking!

Having read through this whole thread, I am rocked with waves of bowel-shaking, lividity-inducing, face-quivering rage. How has this thread gone on this far without somebody mentioning the easiest possibly logical endpoint of the Thank Streak System: Greathank Players. I can not believe that I have to spell this out for you hive of gibbering orangutans, but it is down right embarrassing that the topics of Greathanks: Receive A Thank In Every Subforum, and Greatesterthanks: Achieve a Thank Streak in Each Subforum have not been brought up yet. I sit here, grinding my teeth and crying bitter, salty tears into my tea from the shame that it took someone this long to mention this, and cry YET MORE from the knowledge that it was my wretched fate to do so.

The problem with the thanks game is that the desired playstyle, that is giving newer folks honest crawl advice for which they thank you, is pretty tedious, so folks resort to all manner of scumming to avoid actually playing the game and farm thanks in other ways.
