CIP HEIE: Swiss Army Elf or Sylvan spread-too-thin?

About to hit the extended endgame for the first time, thought I should check in here. I'm at a bit of an impasse and just keep playing slower and slower. Advice, critique and encouragement would be welcomed!

Notable things of importance I've got:

3 runes (swamp, shoals, vaults)
rN+++
flight, swiftness, deflect missiles, silence, controlled blink, haste, orb of destruction at excellent
a katana [+9,+8]
the necronomicon and book of unlife
amulet of stasis
uncanny MR
Ice Storm at "poor" so far (unenhanced)

But I'm missing:
rMut
rCorr
conservation

What I'm pondering:
A switch to TSO to bless that katana
A switch to Nemelex (training in evocations would synergise well with my 4 rods and staff of Wucad Mu)
A switch to Zin or Jiyva if I can't find rMut (maybe Jiyva since I've collected about 50 mutation pots)
Grinding necromancy for necromutation and all that creepy stuff

Right this minute I'm considering dipping a toe in Tomb. So expect a YASD follow-up any minute. :)

Overall I'm not sure if I just want to go for the simplest and most direct 15 rune win from here, or that now I've got this far I should go for glory, killing the toughest uniques and conquering ziggurats.

Tomb I would not even consider before Abyss or Slime. You have no Abjuration, you have no summons to distract and help against mummy curses (not necessary, but helps a lot). When/If you do do it though, see if you can break one of the inner walls on Tomb 1; you can then skip most of Tomb 2.
As for Slime, I haven't personally found it hard, but the couple times I've done it I've had access to the dig spell, rCorr, and rMut. If you do do it, at least switch the cloak for something you don't care about.

If it were me, I would probably go for abyss next, and try for both the rune and rMut or rCorr amulets. The neqoxecs will probably mutate you horribly, but if you insist on the endgame stuff that's gonna happen anyway. I hope you stashed some cure mutation pots.

Summoning is another option, but I'm greedy for EXP. :)
I snipped my inventory, but I do have these:
w - a +2 rod of summoning (12/12)

Also several summoning books (I have abjuration somewhere, think I dropped it for silence), shadow creatures may be the best summon I have castable right now.

Don't snip the inventory, btw. Feel free to snip the notes and stuff, but that's useful info.
What are your other rods? The rod of summoning is great because summon swarm likes to summon poisonous things, and many humanoid uniques are not poison resistant. It can even summon wasps. Silence + rods can make tomb much, MUCH nicer.
Shadow creatures is pretty useful too; it doesn't require too much investment into summoning, and the summons don't end up underpowered.

A few comments now that I've thought about it a little more:
- I notice now I've got control undead, might be handy for the Tomb.
- If I decide to clear Zot 1-4, I can buy a rF++ armour to help with Orbs of Fire. Their mutation effect can probably beat my MR, though. Re-learning invisibility should be worth it here - with metabolic englaciation I might be able to snag a few easy kills.
- The iron city of Dis sounds quite inviting, since I can cope fairly well with stuff that hits hard and has high AC. Hell effects and Fiends sound less fun, though.
- Before trying the Abyss, I feel I should decide once and for all whether or not I'm going to adopt TSO. Is a plain old vorpal +9 katana "good enough" for the extended endgame, or is blessing a crucial necessity? Uncanny MR should hopefully stop nexoqecs from mutating me, but I have ZERO cure mutation pots.
- I've lost two promising characters in Slime before, so it has my respect. Definitely bringing cold resist and wands of fire for azure jellies this time around. Could either go in hasted, or use the amulet of stasis. It's not a fun place to get paralysed.

I'm currently doing my first extended endgame with a MfCr, so take this with a grain of salt:

Orbs of fire shouldn't be an issue on Zot:1-4, the one or two you might encounter can either be bypassed or you can just spam summons and run.

I switched to TSO before doing the abyss, and find that his abilities really help in the postgame. The blessed weapon is nice, but the regen from killing evil monsters and the invocations are what I really enjoy. The named Pan Lords were quite trivial with my invocations only around 5-8. Except Cerebrov, whom I didn't bother to fight.

Maybe I was just lucky, but Slime was much easier than I expected. I just dived straight to level 6 and fought the royal jelly, mostly neglecting the other slime creatures. Whenever things got a bit hairy, I cteleported away, rested and continued the fight. Since there's plenty of room in slime:6 and the royal jelly doesn't regen it seemed like a foolproof method.

Small update, I've cleared zot 1-4, didn't meet anything nasty, apart from a couple of curse toes. No Klowns, Golems or Orbs. Slime, Tomb 1, or Abyss next. Still no rMut or rCorr, but perhaps I have enough firepower for it to not matter too much.

Re: CIP HEIE: Swiss Army Elf or Sylvan spread-too-thin?

HEIE Progress Bulletin:
- The abyssal and slimy runes are the latest additions to my haul.
- The abyss run was excellent, I avoided getting further mutations, and picked up a staff of channeling, amulet of warding and potion of cure mutation along with a fairly decent artifact katana (the +1,+2 katana of Qics {slice, rC+ AC+6}.
- Slime was not too bad. Got mutated twice by shining eyes (lost +1 Dex and picked up -10% hp, ouch!). Cleared the whole place for the good exp from acid blobs (killed 27 overall), dig spell was essential here. Loot was poor, best finds were a book of Necromancy and Rod of Smiting.
- Discovered the usefulness of the staff of channeling. Evocations skill up to 10!
- Killed the Royal Jelly in two visits using haste, wand of fireballs and orb of destruction.
- Ice Storm is now memorised, at "great".

Next on the agenda:
Pan, Hell and Tomb are all unknown to any of my previous characters. Pan sounds the easiest, but I will be tempted to fight Cerebov, just to see if his reputation is justified. Tomb or Hell are probably equally unpleasant, but Tomb at least sounds more predictable.
