[CiP] HuWn promising

Because sometimes the RNG wants to tell you something:

Starting as a HuWn, I grab the first glowing dagger I found on D:1. Dagger of Distorsion. Ok this guy will be a short lived one.
After clearing the first dungeons floor, I send a prayer to Yog Sothot and bravely unwield this dagger, reasoning that the sooner I am done with my char, the lesser I will feel the pain.

Abyssed. CL4.
Come on....
Around me lava and steam everywhere. No baddies yet. 7 tiles away, a "bloodstained trident". I make my moves to grab it, and wanting to minimize the turns, don't wield it immediately. One move later, a tentacled starpawn shows up. I have never met one but the ingame description is nasty enough for me to flee directly into the opposite direction.
A Smoke Demon shows up and smites me. I take another direction and OMFG a gate out of the abyss!!! I run directly to it, barely missed by a ball of steam, the tentacled monstruosity grabbing me one tile away from escape... I manage to break free and find myself panting on D:2 !!!

I take a look at the Trident I brought back from this trip. And I immediatly closed the console.

Look it can't be happening. I have escaped the Abyss with a level 4 Human. And I have this weapon...Surely next step I'll take an OOD Ancient Lich will spawn on D:2 and obliterate this guy.

Re: [CiP] HuWn promising

Well that's one hell of a character start. If you're going to use it, I'd train polearms right away, turn off unarmed combat especially, but in general only train one skill at a time (use manual training), which for now is polearms. Eventually that trident will be outclassed by stronger polearms, most likely a glaive, but a good halberd or if you're lucky enough to find a bardiche, those are also better. It should last up until you finish lair and orc at least, though.

When the trident hits min delay (I think that's 14 but double check) you probably want to train some defenses, or maybe magic if you've found good enough buffs, but probably defenses. Dunno how much advice you want/need, though, so if you have other questions just ask.
