DEFE of Ashenzari, switch to Sif or Vehumet

A noob here.

I had a good game with Ashenzari at Lv 13. But I am running out of Mana a lot. Should I stick to hit and run or switch to another god better suited to casting?

Switching from Ash is probably a bad idea, especially at your character's level. Your spell success rates and power will plummet, spells will start costing more hunger, and you won't even be able to run away as easily. See http://crawl.develz.org/info/index.php?q=ashenzari+wrath.

If possible, try to find the spell sublimation of blood or a staff of channeling, if mana is a problem. Or, just start running away sooner and come back again once mana is restored.

You should uncurse that staff of conjuration, find a decent weapon, and use that instead (curse it if you want the boost, leave it uncursed if you still want your staff of conj). Then you can kill dudes without spending mp by just pressing tab.

You could also try to find a crystal ball and pump evocations.

Just make sure you have a backup method of channeling mana, since if the crystal ball fails you'll have 0 mp left.
