YAVP: 5 wins in 1 day!

I was very familiar with MiFi before, having allruned a MiFi of Zin during the tourney and managing to get the alltime 15-rune speed record with another in 3:02 h/m, so when I planned to win 6 games in one day I decided to play this 6 times.
I got up at 5 AM (after working a lot on Friday and Saturday to clear my Sunday schedule) and won the first game with little problems in 2:19. I sadly died right after that to a D:1 gnoll, but won 4 more MiFis consecutively afterwards. The would-have-been 6th win then died to some dumb mistakes involving too much speed, a lich and a Green Death right before getting the runes for Zot, so I didn't quite reach my goal but hey, 5 is a record and enough for now. :P
Weapons used, in case anyone is interested:

#1 vampiric demon blade
#2 anti-magic triple sword
#3 anti-magic bardiche
#4 demon whip of flaming
#5 demon trident of electrocution

I mainly used the plate/EV strategy for defence, and on 3 I also used a shield (#6 who failed didn't use one but didn't die to anything that could have been blocked...). I think plate/EV is really great with Mi's apts if you always raise dex - 40/30 AC/EV is totally achievable even in a threeruner. On one I didn't find any good plate, but a GDH, so I enchanted that and had +12 GDA by the end of the game. On another, the same, but I went for FDA instead. This was the demon whip one (and probably the weakest of the lot).

I used Heroism in basically every significant fight to increase my tabbing prowess but never ran into piety problems - Okawaru is really great. I'd also advise getting Invo 7-8 because it was a lot more helpful than I thought it would be, especially considering that you don't even have the MP for Heroism/Finesse by the time you have them available if you don't train Invo. Once I didn't have Okawaru in the temple so I just went Trog to mix it up.

  Code:
Elynae the Conqueror (L26 MiFi), worshipper of Okawaru, escaped with the Orb and 3 runes on 2012-03-18, with 1528759 points after 77500 turns and 2:19:24.

  Code:
Elynae the Conqueror (L27 MiFi), worshipper of Trog, escaped with the Orb and 3 runes on 2012-03-18, with 1494658 points after 87004 turns and 2:25:10.

Fun facts:
-I used to have a ton of 2-win streaks (6 or so), now my streak looks like this:
  Code:
Elynae has 4 consecutive wins (MiFi, MiFi, MiFi, MiFi).

-The turncounts of game #4 and #5 were exactly the same!
-No coffee involved this time despite being up at 5 AM!
-I beat my own former Minotaur speed (3:02 but with 15 runes) record 5 times over!
-
  Code:
65 games for Elynae (won): 23x Conqueror [...]
best title
-total time of crawling today: 11 hours, 48 minutes (give me a break now :) )
-I killed Mennas 4 times!

Next goal: fastest win ever! I need to win in 1:11:51 which shouldn't be too hard with SpEn... I died at 1:00 once with the orb in my hands to a very preventable mistake. :(

If I try playing a video game for 11 hours, 48 minutes straight, I get a throbbing headache and I can't see out of my eyes. I don't know if I could streak five games in a row, but I certainly could not do it in one single day.

Wow! That is impressive!
Like KoboldLord, I find it hard to imagine sitting down and playing for that long. And even if I did, on recent form, I would still only be about half way through my first successful game... ;-)
Well done.

Out of curiosity, how often do you skip levels or leave them partially explored when going for speedy wins?

Re: YAVP: 5 wins in 1 day!

Dude, what ARE you?

Wait, are you ACTUALLY a Minotaur in real life and not just on this game? Is that your secret?

... no fair, I wanna be a cute Elf >.>

Anyway that is astounding. I've never won before, but I've come close a couple times. Seeing people with this much drive and passion at the game is so inspiring. Probably a good call on the coffee, too; coffee is kinda like RL's version of Trog Beserk Mode due to the hyperactivity followed by crashing, when you think about it. That afterward-crash could make someone try to melee a Stone Giant or Titan to death and not look at his options, get "just barely killed", and forget that he had Blink as an Ability the whole time and could have survived. (Please tell me you remembered to eat though. ^^ Eating healthy is very important for "day long games", normally in MMORPGs but I would assume this too.)

don't forget that he had some splats, so it took longer than that, and he seemed to be on irc all the time, chatting freely.
i think he's an octopode.

Re: YAVP: 5 wins in 1 day!

Thanks, all! :)

My branch order for fast three-runers is the following (I use it for "normal" games too, but I usually win in about 3 hours, so none of these MiFis are actually exceptionally fast):

D 1-13
Lair 1-8
Orc 1-4
D 14-20
V 1-7
D 21-27
get two Lair runes
V:8
Zot 1-4 (I hate ascending through uncleared Zot, and the experience really helps too in my opinion)
Zot:5

I usually only dive the Lair branches. Sometimes I clear Snake, and while I cleared Spider the two times I got it out of curiosity, I don't think I will in the future. Then again, you'll need to kill the Hellspider so it won't be that easy once it is introduced, maybe?
Of course this also means that I don't do bonus branches like Crypt, Elf, Blade, Slime etc.

We're not playing ADOM, though, so there's no mutation for 5 extra pairs of eyes.

I think Jiyva gives a mutation that is eyes all over you.
What made you happy today?

There's the new goal, make it back into awfulplayers the same day you drop out of it.
