YAVP or better YASV MfBe: Mom, where's my fiery rune?

I'm posting this victory mainly because it's probably my last in 0.9, as webtiles has finally been upgraded to .10.
Quite ironically, I managed to forget one rune, just know that crawl helps to remember to pick that shiny little ball worth (?) of so much effort.
So, this is my first 14 runes victory: it's sound stupid like very few other things you can do in Dungeon Crawl and it's the confirmation I can't get a 15-runes winning melee character.
Just to look some more like a fool, I've made some other big mistake in this run: first of all, I smartly memorized a lot of spells before abandoning Trog, because I didn't realize that would add a insane amount of penance. Actually, I've leaved the dungeon while I was still suffering his wrath! Thankfully Trog's wrath isn't *so* bad - he only made me pass out a couple time in a quite dangerous situation.
Secondly, I've snubbed all the bardiches I've found in the Abyss and Pan, because I was sure to have a second, plain one in my stash. After I had searched for it to enchant before Zot:5, I realized it was a wonderful bardiche of reaching. Fortunately, my holy bardiche proved to be quite effective even against non-evil enemies and I hadn't big problems to clear zot's end floor.
There are little few things to say about this win: most dangerous situation was certainly in gehenna:5 when a Lich paralysed me the same turn he came in los (i had a terrible MR, thanks to RNG!) and consequentially summoned a party of 1 to torment me to death. Fortunately, the exit was a square away. Running back in vestibule with 32 hp left and a fiend and a green death (and no rpois!) behind really make understand the value of scrolls of blinking and fog!
I'd say I couldn't imagine a best situation to use them, if I hadn't land directly in Hellion's Island later, while changing floor in Pan. Being forced to blink in an angle of the map, blocked by lava and the walls, with 3/4 hellions in LOS, make again my life saved by a scroll of fog (and teleportation )
Oh, just one last thing: now that I've played this character I can understand why pro-players advise 2-hands weapon over 1-hand: in late game, damage which can be blocked by shield is negligible (and TSO provide anyway a decent shield when it's really useful) while being able to kill enemies faster make the game really easier. At least, compared to my mdgl with a broad axe, my mfbe was sensibly stronger!
