Fastest allrune win in history, 3:02:57! (MiFi/Zin)
Records in this game:
-fastest 15-rune game ever played on the servers, 3:02:57 hours/minutes/seconds; former record was 3:20:34
-fastest won minotaur game ever played on the servers; former record was 3 runes and 3:14:36
-earliest kills of Cerebov and Gloorx Vloq ever
-my personal highscore at 15 runes and 115199 turns
I instantly picked TSO and stuck with him till Zot because switching gods is 1) annoying, 2) takes time and 3) is dangerous; and you actually get TSO piety before crypt/extended nowadays. Two triple swords, one off Rupert and one in an Orc:4 shop; plus an rC plate from Orc.
Runes:
decaying My first rune, nothing special at all. Just a traditional hydra/swamp dragon vault that fell easily to a flaming scimitar.
silver Picked this one up at XL 20, very little risk involved. I only went into one quadrant.
slimy I had rMut, rC, Stasis and rCorr so I decided to go for this. Might/haste against TRJ, nothing special once again.
Loot was pretty useless.
Pandemonium runes
I entered Pan at ~XL 22.
Dark: I summoned some angels, hit Gloorx a couple times till we were both heavily wounded, then retreated to let my servants finish the work. Executioners were no problems with my defences.
Glowing: Mnoleg was a jerk with eyeballs so I needed two tries, but with rMut and sustAb this wasn't very hard
Fiery: Out of haste so I had to berserk. Barely took any damage despite only having the one rF ring and no other source of rF.
Magical: First I got banished and found the rune in the ettin vault (which is really really nasty, due to disto/chaos GSCs) and then the rune. Lom Lobon barely did anything when I killed him.
bone Ereshkegal didn't even come after me when I dug the vault and grabbed the rune (LoS issues worked in my favour)
From then on Hell became horrible. I got the three worst hell:7 maps.
icy The horrible coc_dpeg map with dozens of Ice Fiends and islands that I only travelled between with =lev. I also got paralysed twice.
obsidian The horrible geh_evilmike map with smiters behind glass and fire giants and too many hellions/balrugs. I also cleared the whole level because I initially took the wrong way, wasting time.
iron The horrible st_dis map with pit fiend spam. It's also hard to navigate. However, I was lucky and found my way pretty quickly. I was pretty pissed by now though with my hell maps, as you can imagine
serpentine Due to lack of rPois, no tactics and constriction I actually managed to get down to 20 HP here. Don't laugh.
golden Teleported on Tomb:2 to get to Tomb:3 quickly, sent in 5 angels, stairdanced the rest, went to the Tomb:1 rim and teleported out.
With 15 runes I made my way down, restocked on food in a bazaar and to Zot, still with TSO. I accidentally got some penance thinking my allied angel was allowed to kill a hostile angel.
Zot 1-4 went fine. On Zot:5, things went rapidly downhill. I only had rF+ and panicked when I met 3 orbs of fire who dealt horrible damage. My first teleport brought me into their midst; my second next to three orb guardians. Before that one kicked in, I was temporarily at single-digit HP.
After some consideration and help from IRC, I ran around to a teleportation trap that cut off a chokepoint, put on stasis and led them though. I didn't want to rest in the middle of the vault though, so I went back up to the staircase. And then an orb guardian and a moth of wrath appeared. I was at 80 HP and forced to fight a berserk Orb Guardian with no way of hasting, healing, teleport, might, blink, agility or allies because I was out of all of these.
I killed it in three hits and took no damage. I decided to convert to Zin to ninja the orb and went up. I had a dangerous brawl with a drac pack that included three greens on Zot:1, with no rPois or curing, but managed to return to the Temple to convert to Zin. I also had 2 ?recharge I that I read on my /teleport.
Back to Zot:5, I took the non-orb-of-fire-infested lung, used Sanctuary against yet more berserk Orb Guardians, got the Orb and finally ascended.
A really fun game with a horrible Zot:5 and a lot of strain in Hells. Worth it though!
