Stupid Icon

I was Happy to discover that the Trunk build for version 8.0 has just been Updated for Mac.
However Immediately after downloading it i was taken aback in disgust.
The new Icon is terrible. I immediately Switched back to the old one.
Scratch that, I couldn't figure out how to switch out the Icons the new one is Plugged into 8.0 with code.

My problem with the new one is that it doesn't look like much effort has been put into it.
If more detail was put into the Cauldron and Fire part then I'd be ok with it.

However the new Title Screens are pretty good.
I did two of them and was working on a third but my computer had a heart attack and i am no longer able to finish it, or switch out the Title Text for Denzi's awesome new title. (It looks so much better than my Text)

What do you guys Think of the New Titles and Icons?

Well, my first response after any of the art updates or tile replacements is that it's horrible. (For instance, after they changed the goblins. Or the kobolds. Or the whole main dungeon. Etc...)

But I always get over it, and usually end up liking the new stuff after a few days. So I've learned not to complain.

(I've not seen the new 8.0 icon, but when I do, I'm sure I'll agree and hate it with you. At least for a few days. )

I quite like it. Assuming the one that's in the released build is the one that's been in trunk for the last week or two?

(At least, I had a long-running 0.7 game going before that and hadn't switched.)

I think it's OK, I liked the older one better.

The icon does look a bit too clean. But wasn't the old one small and pixelated? Let's hope your computer recovers, so that you can fix it for us Also, glad to hear you're planning on using Denzi's title text on your title screens.

Yeah haha thats the Icon. The top part of it with the bubbles is Fine.
Its too Shiney looking I liked the Small Pixelated look of things better unless we are talking about Uncharted 2 level graphics.
I am fairly certain that the Devs do not have the money or Skill required to reproduce graphics of that caliber.

The problem i have with it is that it is JUST ok, while the Previous one was Great.
However that does not mean that the new one doesn't have potential, it just needs some work.

As for my Titles screend, i don't like them as much as Denzi's. And i can't really put my finger on the why though, it looks like something got messed up in the download and the colors are a bit off from what i had intended them to be.

Do you know what program he uses, I wanna guess MSpaint/Gimp.
But im not 100% sure.
