Casting Fulsome Distillation on a spriggan corpse should yield a potion of porridge.

Demonspawn should start out with demon quality equipment. (Demon trident instead of a trident, demon whip instead of a mace, Etc.)

All equipment without a species-specific brand should be "human" and humans should get a bonus from using it.

I've been wondering about this. It seems racist to only specify the manufacture of non-human equipment. On the other hand, perhaps it's not necessarily human-made and should say "of uncertain provenance." "You are wielding a dagger of uncertain provenance" has a certain charm to it.

There should be spriggan quality daggers. (I got this idea from the the spriggans dagger.)
Demigods should start out with godly equipment. (Holy scourge instead of a mace, blessed trishula or however you spell it instead of a trident, blessed blade instead of a falchion. Weapon sometimes branded with chaos/pain/holy wrath/distortion.)

I've been operating under the assumption that generic, that is to say non-racial, equipment is produced by multispecies workforces labouring in large sweatshops for low pay, and is therefore of slightly lower quality and price than the handcrafted stuff. Dungeon Crawl: Foxconn.

Reminds me of the McSweeney's leak of the unused Zinn/Chomsky audio commentary for Lord of the Rings: "the point is clearly made that the “master ring,” the so-called “one ring to rule them all,” is actually a rather elaborate justification for preemptive war on Mordor."

Yup. Crawl definitely needs more weird eagle/slime men. And Jun Horde.

Beastmaster is a great movie if you watch it before you turn 12 and then never see it again.

Nice one. I see an interesting parallel to "The New Shadow", but that's off topic.

No resists, but with good enough Invocations skill he turns any interesting attacks -- fire, freezing, negative energy, torment, petrification -- into plain vanilla physical damage.

Ego-branded suggestions aside, here is mine.

The +0 White Glove {rN}: A single glove of impeccable white colour made by an unknown battlemage. Nothing can stain this whiteness. It is capable of creating small projectiles that sear chaotic creatures like silver.

When evoked, this glove let you throw a +1 silver dart that doesn't last too long in this realm; however, it still can seriously wound a chaotic or heavily mutated creature.

  Code:
You throw a +1 silver dart. The silver dart hits the kobold!
The silver dart disappears in a flash of light.

Who will guess what game gave me the idea?

Norm wants you to live a humdrum, mundane existence and die an unremarkable death. Norm dislikes it when you kill uniques, enter portals, clear branches, pick up runes, enter post-endgame areas (Hell, Pan etc.), and especially dislikes it when you pick up the Orb of Zot. Winning the game will reduce your piety to zero immediately.

We clearly need two new gods, one for squares, one for slackers. They overlap a little, like Yred and Kik, but not too much. The square god still wants you to do things, just not amazing or special things. The slacker god doesn't mind if you do a J.

It should have a long train of fabric hanging off the back that gets dragged along the ground behind you, and you can't move if a monster steps on the train.
