Odd things sighted in dungeon.

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Re: Odd things sighted in dungeon.

Recently, I had a TrBe die from wear-IDing a Ring of -3 Intelligence without Remove Curse available (a stupid death, I know, but I play TrBe to wind down, not to win). The cause of death was listed as "forgot to breathe." I laughed, moved on, and later thought...what about Grey Draconians and the others that don't need to breathe?

So I pulled Wizmode up for a test, and found out that they don't forget to breathe. Instead, they forget to exist. I love finding little Easter eggs like that.

In case anyone doesn't know and is curious, the death causes for strength and dexterity statdeath are "crushed under their own weight" and "slipped on a banana peel" respectively.

(yeah, I know this isn't -exactly- an odd thing sighted in the dungeon, but this feels like the best place to put it)

I know, but I've never found any on levels 1-6

I've seen another cruel abyss exit:
at the end of a short tunnel with 3 doors; behind the last door is a single tile room with the exit...
...and a lorocyproca sitting on it (luckily I was also there by choice and had see invisible)

Drat, didn't mean to thank . . .

But you can kill them separately. It's not like a yaktaur captain and his herd are considered one monster, even though they spawn together

Actually I made it through. XL 13 DsFi^M. I put on a junk randart cloak, my invis ring, sparked invis (like an old zippo it took several tries), chugged speed and might, and just ploughed through them. Plate went down to -2, shield from -2 to -4. Makh's HP recovery really helped. And two floors down I found a demon whip of elec and rF plate.

I had this Vault occur in a relatively recent game, at first i was like @$%Q@, but then I made it through by using escape hatches from both sides, so no harm done. ;) Finally I got pissed and summoned 2-3 brothers in arms and we cleared it.
However, in a more recent game I saw another Oklob Vault that had like 8 plants. Not on such a bad place though, lol. See, sometimes Fedhas is awesome. :)

I was enslaving some monsters to suicide themselves against an Oklob. A wolf mostly destroyed the bush protecting it, and a giant frog went and killed it.

This must've been the laziest Oklob ever. It only attacked the frog once and basically let the frog kill it.
