How should I proceed with skilling and gear? So far my fustibalus is keeping the living and undead away from my flesh, but I fear the lack of bullets will start to slow it down soon. I got some nice charms in my book and am currently working on getting those online. I do not like my armor, (except for the scarf, I do not know how to feel about that). There has been very little jewlery in this game. Also I would like to start on a melee weapon skill soon, but do not know what to pick. The scimitar of flaming I got from Erica is nice, but the randart dagger could also be a good backup. (It is only a +1 dagger, but berserk+electric brand would potentially be deadly)

Any ideas?

Also, just my luck. Right after I had spent nearly 500g on the fustibalus from a shop, the next thing I find on the floor is a fustibalus. We really need a return policy in shops...

You have a sufficient pile of bullets for now and you'll find more as you explore. Use bullets only on meaningful enemies, and use stones and melee on all other enemies; you'll never run out of bullets that way.

Infusion doesn't affect ranged attacks. The other spells you've memorized are handy. Apportation is also handy.

I don't know what to say about your armor since I don't know what else you've found this game. Everything is relative. I will say that you should probably enchant your boots now, since you probably won't find better boots for a long time; but if you want to wait until you've finished the lair, that's fine too (the lair is a very easy part of the game and your character is strong).

There is no reason to start on a melee weapon skill soon, your fustibalus is the most powerful weapon you have (there is no penalty for shooting at point blank). If you find a strong one-handed weapon - that is, a demon blade, demon whip, eveningstar, or something very highly enchanted, then you can consider investing skill into melee. Also consider that it's totally fine to use a fustibalus all game and just switch to unskilled melee on trivial enemies to save ammo.

The dagger is dangerous to use because it has *Rage. I don't think you have any use for it.

As far as skills go, getting more air and translocations will get swiftness and shroud online quickly, and a little bit of summonings will get summon butterflies online quickly. Regeneration is a level 3 spell and will be more expensive (and not even that good), I'd worry about that later.

Yeah, get Swiftness and Shroud online: Apportation will come for free with Shroud. Then Fighting, Dodging, and Shields.

I'd wait a little while on training a weapon. The scimitar is very good and cross-trains daggers for stabs. You could also train like 5 Long Blades soon to make using it better.

Orc might have a top-tier one-hander in a shop (or the rare Pandemonium end vault). Otherwise, you're waiting for a rare unique or scroll of acquirement to drop one. You don't *need* to train a melee weapon all game, though.

Of the armour you're carrying, I'd wear the MR+ leather and the rF+ and Str+ rings, swapping in the rC+ ring when needed. The scarf of spirit shield is great, except it might leave you without MP to use god abilities in an emergency: remember to use a potion of magic, if needed.
