If you're switching to your Bow to kill off something dangerous in a hurry, quiver your +4 Arrows AFTER you switch to your Bow.
I was absolutely furious and discouraged when I fired off about 20 +4 Arrows against a lone Orc Wizard and not a single point of damage was dealt and it killed me off effortlessly. Then I realized the problem: I was wielding my Short Sword, not my Bow, and my +4 Arrows were equipped in my throwable weapons slot. No WONDER I couldn't land a single hit on it; in the heat of the moment I hurriedly quivered my Arrows but forgot to switch to my Bow before I did that. >_< Now I'm not mad at the game, instead I feel like a retard.

When, where and how long to use Tab is one of the key minigames of the pure melee build. Tab is a harsh, harsh mistress.
