Why is MP Powered Wands Bad?

This is I'm sure a simple question, but I'm just not seeing it. If I'm a melee dude and I can spend some of the MP I'm not using for anything else to get an evocables enhancer, what's not to like? And if I'm a caster, I'm probably not using wands much anyway?

Because in an emergency you cant zap all the AoE wands you have. And later in the game you cant zap tele/heal/hasting if you ran out of mana.

If you're a worshiper of Pakellas it's especially bad.
If you're a DD worshiper of Pakellas...he died.

If it only affected the wands where the power increase does something it might be good, but it doesn't so it's bad.

Okay, those explanations make sense. Thanks.

Now that the yellow wands have been removed, is this mutation more useful nowadays, or still always bad?

Re: Why is MP Powered Wands Bad?

It's probably not bad now that there is no wand that you want to zap repeatedly to survive.

It's probably still awful for casters.

Re: Why is MP Powered Wands Bad?

Since casters tend to fall back on wands when out of MP, it is terrible for them.

Otherwise (when you don't have spirit shield) quite good
I'm with tasonir on this one.

Re: Why is MP Powered Wands Bad?

It's basically irrelevant for everyone, including casters as they favor backing up instead of zapping wands.

Dedicated evocations users probably enjoy the firepower boost.

It's still shitty if you wear guardian spirit and you want to fall back on a wand after fighting in melee for a while.
