You've decided your next great race goal is Dg, because why not. High HP, workable aptitudes, the ability to use most items you find in the dungeon, and you can skip the silly, unbalanced find-a-god game. What's not to like, eh? I dunno, I enjoy Dg for whatever reason.
A few games in, you get to D:10. For some reason D:10 likes to be weird as hell lately. You have 32 AC already. You've found two scrolls of acquirement, and one of them dropped Arga on you. You've even found a wand of heal wounds. You're several times more unkillable and more able to kill than you have any right to be at this point in the game. Great, right? But...remove curse, of all scrolls, does not exist. Two of acquirement and plenty otherwise, but no remove curse. And you have a ring of teleportation stuck to you. The game is therefore testing your ridiculous finds as much as it possibly can and gleefully pretending that this one scroll was removed in a recent patch.
It sounds and certainly felt like it should have been incredibly frustrating, but it was actually the most fun I've had in a decent while. I was almost disappointed when remove curse finally did show a few floors later. Every moment was tense. The fights were exciting and often not ones I opted to get myself into. Most of the time, the RNG deciding to omit common, rather necessary items from the game for an unnecessarily long time is one of my pet peeves, but this time, just this once...it was actually pretty cool. Unfortunately, now I just have an overpowered DgGl that I'll probably somehow splat in some extremely boring way. Whee!
