Just make it so you have to buy Crawl to play it, and also pay subscription fee every month. When a new version comes out, people also have to buy it. I heard this system works well for some games.
Another good way to make money is to sell DLCs. For $14.99 you can sell "Nude elf tiles pack", so all elves in the game become nude.
