Alternative proposal:
Change all food into evocables, with nutrition gained based on the evocations skill. At high evocations skill allow weaponization such as evoking pizza to make a tornado and jerky to summon minotaurs.

- Give each character unseen, hidden tastes for food that they have to discover by trying it. If they really like (say) pizza, it fills them up as much as royal jelly. Some other food, occurring at the same frequency in the Dungeon, becomes inedible. If you are (e.g.) a Spriggan who is found to hate fruit, perhaps you become tolerant of beef jerky (but not meat rations).

- Add a 'Fat' mutation that is automatically applied after consuming at least 10,000 units of saturation in 1000 turns. Your fat swells as you consume more and then burns off over time like a camel's hump, automatically feeding you. If you have the Amulet of the Gourmand, chunks count for 2x saturation for these purposes, since you're extra-decadent and not peeling the skin off your fried hobgoblins.

- Allow certain monsters to yield semi-rare food items. Infernal pork rinds from hell hogs, for instance.

- Enable the character to eat equipment, books, and scrolls in desperation. Let Vine Stalkers heal from eating books, then let them use Burn Spellbooks to fart fire.

- Enable an '-awakenthedraculainyou' launch argument that replaces all food with potions of blood and changes everyone's dietary requirements to that of a vampire.

- Enable the gnashing of shield edges to relieve hunger.

- Remove food.
