I'd taken a long blades DeBe, and then Yiuf offered me his staff and I started killing the dudes with that. But then: Orc dropped an elec demon blade.

I'd planned to kill things with whatever lajatangs Trog gives me and shooting arrows into dudes, but damn, an elec dblade on Orc:2 is pretty excellent too.

So... should I switch?

I guess it depends whether you'd like your attack to (a) add a bunch of elec damage, or (b) berserk your enemies.

I like ranged attacks, have 12 bows and no throwing, and will probably get me a rod at some point.

On a hunter^trog recently I had 20 bows and 14 staves, got a vamp lajatang, figured, "Well, I will try to use it for a while and see how often I switch," but then I just held tab and won the game without having to hit ' ever again. Twenty damn levels in bows, a couple of rods, and my character was significantly stronger just using the vamp lajatang and never wielding anything else. (To be fair it was a +11 artefact vamp lajatang with no other important properties, positive or negative, but I found it late in Vaults, and that's only a bit better than a +9 vamp lajatang.)

If you don't want that power, cool, but you don't need to worry about the food conduct, because you do not need to wield anything else.

Huh. I'd always thought vamp was good, but not that overpoweringly good. I'm pretty happy with my elec one but I'll try the vamp.

yeah vamp melee makes the game a joke. It's always a breeze. back in the day, i'd carry vamp hand axe all the through lair, slowly killing death yaks, and never really dying with all the healing...
