What are the moderation rules for a General Crawl Discussion subforum, or the rules for the new discussion-free CYC?
Of course, I also have plenty of reasons to question my judgement re: what the Tavern wants and/or needs right now so I'm not really confident in my disagreement, which means I'm at full-on Charlie Brown levels of wishy-washyness here.
People use CYC for a lot more than just jokes. Though I will say there are a lot of jokes. There's lots of general catch-all discussion about things like music, life, and other games. It makes more sense in my head to have a section for talking about Crawl, a section for asking questions about Crawl, and a section for talking about whatever else.
As far as moderation is concerned, a general Crawl discussion forum would be for serious discussion (and admittedly there would be some shot-calling on your part here) regarding the game, along with YASD/YAVP bragposts with no advice sought. Advice would be for any OP that asks a question of the forum. (Perhaps requiring a question sentence would be mandatory). This includes most but not all CiP reports. CYC could remain much as it is now with the exception of tier lists and complaining and bcadren workshopping and things being in general Crawl discussion.
I know for example that I have posted several satirical threads- personally I would self-moderate these threads into CYC, and I think most posters who make posts like these would do the same. Again, this requires some calls made on behalf of the moderators as a general Crawl discussion forum might indeed be a tricky thing to navigate, but I think people would quickly get a sense for it.
