Official Sar thanks thread

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Official Sar thanks thread

Now that thanking has been restricted to OP, I've created this thread in case I post something funny in another thread and you want to thank me but can't, because I'm not OP. So just thank this post instead. If you've already thanked it, you can just write "thanks" manually - not like thank counts are visible anymore.

For this message the author Sar has received thanks: 9

I can see this at the bottom of your user profile screen; is that a mod thing? If it isn't, then as far as I can tell it's impossible for mere admins to remove and requires Napkin to change.

In any case I lol'd at this and you earned your Thank, Sar.

Re: Official Sar thanks thread

Well, they aren't visible where it counts (under my username), and that is what matters. Nobody will say "Oh, this Sar sure is a funny fellow, I wonder how many thanks he's got" and go and check my profile and be amazed by that life-changing revelation. I mean, that's what they obviously should do, but alas, I don't think they would!

Edit: see, Turukano, I would undoubtedly thank your witty quip, but I can't! You should really think of making an official Turukano thanks thread. I am sure it's going to be at least half as popular as mine.

n.b. as the number of "official thanks threads" goes up, the probability of all official thanks threads being stupid removed approaches 1.

Then we shall go on to the end. We shall thank in Crazy Yuif's Corner, we shall thank in our posts and topic names, we shall thank with growing confidence and growing strength in the General Design Discussion, we shall defend our thanks, whatever the cost may be. We shall thank in YAVP/YASD, we shall thank in Technical Support, we shall thank in Dungeon Crawling Advice and in Suggestions and Criticism, we shall thank in The Wanderer's Courtyard; we shall never surrender.

That's why you should have just disabled thanks altogether! Never trust a writer to do a programmer's job.

The difference was between "click one box and hit save" and "wade through endless user permissions menus and hope you don't break the forum." This writer decided to take the easy way out.

I trust you are polling this page frequently so that I only need toggle the thank bit each time I like a sar post. You're going to have to take it on faith that I've liked two posts so far.
