Re: Sacrifice Hands

It's fine for UC characters or if you find a really good one-hander early on

Re: Sacrifice Hands

You sacrifice almost nothing if you're an octopode in something like dragon form.

Re: Sacrifice Hands

Well, the thing with Ru is you get this really really interesting tradeoff: many small sacrifices, late access to power or sac a hand on d:3-4, get access to healing, sac temperature resistance on D:5-6, be nearly maxed out, have access to Annihilating Truth. So sometimes I will take hands if I think survival rate is going to be improved a lot by it.

Take this OpEE of RU I recently won: http://crawl.develz.org/morgues/git/com ... 223349.txt

  Code:
772 | D:2      | Became a worshipper of Ru the Awakened
2353 | D:5      | Gained mutation: You are missing a hand. [Ru sacrifice]
  2353 | D:5      | Acquired Ru's first power
  2353 | D:5      | Acquired Ru's second power
  2353 | D:5      | Acquired Ru's third power

Not to say I did not regret it at times, eg. I found Stormbow on D:6 :P

Re: Sacrifice Hands

Sac Hand is good for Tm. Not to mention, it gives a ton of piety, so you don't need many other sacrifices.

Re: Sacrifice Hands

Can Ru offer you sac hand (or another big sacrifice) if your piety is at a point where some of the piety gained would be wasted? Like would he give it to you if you already close to 6 stars . If he can, how much piety does sac hand give, and when does it become a completely bad idea to take it?

Common question.

No.

Ru tries you give you sacrifices so you don't 'waste piety'.

Maybe he can offer sac hand if you abandoned and rejoined him a few times, in which case you're not worried about wasting piety anyway.
