Does noise use square range now?

Topic says pretty much everything - does noise propagate the same distance diagonally as it does horizontally/vertically assuming no walls?

Bump. Also, if noise does not use square range, it should do so I think. Perhaps this thread should be in GDD.

Well, according to this http://crawl.chaosforge.org/Noise#Ambient_noise, noise is attenuated more on the diagonal.
