Three steps to win the game

1) Enter dungeon.
2) Kill the first goblin you see and take his club.
3) Ascend with the orb.

Re: Three steps to win the game

I see 4 steps here
1) Choose OP species like DE/Sp
2) Choose OP background like FE/En
3) Choose OP god like Vehumet/Ash
4) Get the Orb.

Edit. Actually it can be a nice variant of "no pick up challenge" - you can pick one and single weapon. Winning with an Og is no-brainer but with other species you would need to decide what you really want - this dagger of venom or that Demon Blade of Electrocution. For spellcaster you can play variant "pick one item only" so you can select a book/CBoE/new evokable/amulet of gourmand etc.

2) Repeat step 1 when dead.
3) Win.

My most successful method so far.

Guys, you forgot the descend and ascend stair commands. Trust me on this. When I set out to check to see if the game could be won using nothing but the O and Tab keys while playing a troll, I ran into a roadblock getting to D:2 with just those two buttons. I think I also starved to death.
The best strategy most frequently overlooked by new players for surviving: not starting a fight to begin with.

Re: Three steps to win the game

i just used archive.org to read some of my 4000ish posts made on the electronic arts uk forums between 12 and 13, which, in retrospect, was a stupid idea:
-the third post i saw said "I kind of want a friend" (i have no idea why i posted that, maybe just teenage angst, because i had more close friends back then than i do now)
-a post about me wanting to live behind a waterfall with my D&D character (what the fuck) (i think this was a sexual thing)
-a "who needs windows" signature after approximately 2 weeks of ubuntu (rock bottom - the rest of this is kind of entertaining, this is just too painful)
-a link to my deviantART beneath it
-a bunch of hug emoticons (i loved that emoticon to bits)
-"what an achievement - first post on second page"
-location set to "battling through fastholme", which apparently is from some rpg i was playing at the time
-i'm not that ashamed about this, but some 20-page debate about veganism (though, speaking of veganism and shame, i did refuse to give a friend of mine a spoon for his yoghurt some time around then)
-a post in the formula 1 thread saying only "sorry, i'm not interested in formula 1" (postcount!)

THREE STEPS

1. Enter Dungeon

2. Follow the elaborate tactical guide document* explaining every non-step procedure one must conduct in order to get the Orb and win with any preferred quantity of runes (min 3, max 15)

3. Exit Dungeon

This reminds me of a time when I frequented Club Penguin. Used to go around asking people if they wanted to join the 'black army'... As in, my penguin was the stock black and I wanted other people to join my little clique thing. Idk. The penguin's name was Zingy Pigny (correct spelling).

Also, a dude in the showers at the YMCA walked by and said to me "Nice dick bro!"
I just laughed with a "Thanks bro!". Was this the appropriate response? Is something wrong with my dick?

Re: Three steps to win the game

how do you laugh with a "thanks bro"? surely you're laughing either before or after "thanks bro", where the latter is a minor faux-pas because it sounds insecure, but laughing before is fine. possibly, if there's a couple seconds between "thanks bro" and then laughing, it could be alright - i.e. laughing about the absurdity of the situation, not out of insecurity - but that kind of laugh has a specific sound and the guy who complimented you might not get it. and besides, for that to really work you both start laughing simultaneously after a pause, like the movie cliche, which is hard to pull off irl. i say movie cliche because it feels like i've seen 5ish scenes like that but i don't exactly remember any, so that may be nonsense. and you probably don't want to bond with that kind of guy anyway, unless you think he was hitting on you and you're interested, i guess?

Re: Three steps to win the game

Have you never laughed something out before? I mean maybe I laughed before the 'thanks bro', but it doesn't really change the interaction much. I was absolutely laughing at the situation and definitely not because of ANY insecurities. The guy was clearly just 'avin a laugh, or at least I would like to think so. Some people are just weird. Anyway, that was last time I jerked off in public.

That's interesting. You claim no insecurity. But when you get a compliment, a generally reinforcing experience, it caused you to cease the behavior. Why do you think that is?

That's a good question, thank you for asking.

Well it all started at my conception. I'm a bastard, you see, and to this day have not met my biological father. I've held it against him. My mother married a generally no-good tattoo artist when I was still in utero, I guess for the monetary support but maybe she legitimately thought she had found love. So fast forward to birth my family has all but abandoned me before I even had a chance to do anything wrong and I'm stuck being fathered by an abusive prick. I had a pretty normal childhood all things considered, though. Spent a lot of time outside. Anyways, my parents divorced when I was five and to this day my mother asserts it was my idea. Maybe it was, I don't remember. So after many years of constantly changing houses and boyfriends my mother found a dude that stuck. They got married and we all moved to a farm. After, like, five years of pretending to be alpaca farmers they filed for bankruptcy and we got out of there to move into a nice suburban house. I should mention that while in the alpaca house my two little brothers were born. Things have been pretty calm since then. We've moved a couple times, one of them a long distance move and there's another one on the way, actually. Anyways, I'm 99% positive that because I was born out of wedlock the Judeo-Christian God has it out for me.

Maybe I have daddy issues.
