Can I specify minimap exclusions?

Is it possible to exclude something from the minimap altogether? I don't want my straggling friendlies cluttering the map with their pixels. It's a real mess. I looked at the options guide, but it seems I can only change the colors. Hoping I'm wrong, as usual.

Re: Can I specify minimap exclusions?

Here, this is what I'm talking about. The bright blue "pixels" in the minimap are left-behind friendlies. As you can see, their persistence in the map blocks critical features such as nearby stairs, as in this example. I have modified colors of the features from their default values, but I don't think this should be the cause. Is there a way to keep them off the minimap, or at least to be able to modify the precedence of features that overlap, giving stairs precedence over creatures, for example?

Re: Can I specify minimap exclusions?

That also clears everything else, including items, which isn't the behavior I I'm looking for.
