A dark forum theme?

I don't know about you guys, but this forum being so damn bright is pretty uncomfortable very late at night.

A darker theme would be appreciated over here.

You could lower the brightness on your computer screen too.

Re: A dark forum theme?

If I recall correctly, there's just a setting in phpbb admin somewhere that lets users select their own themes from the user preferences area.

It's already low enough that playing at midday means a whole lot of glare on the monitor.

https://justgetflux.com

You can use flux to adjust your screen brightness and color temperature automatically throughout the day.

Re: A dark forum theme?

I've had Flux before, but it's a no-go if you decide to sprite something - and only further exaggerates the brightness issue once you turn it off.

You can raise the brightness again at midday.

Re: A dark forum theme?

I like the current forum theme very much, I actually prefer bright backgrounds, and this one is not even pure white. But enabling one additional theme for people who prefer darker backgrounds would be nice.

Maybe if someone looked for a nice theme and asked a forum admin to install it, they would.

Re: A dark forum theme?

OTOH, I just noticed the phpBB copyright at the bottom of the page ends at 2007, I suspect that means this is using older BB code, who knows if currently-downloadable themes would be compatible with it (or if the default theme would be compatible with the new code)

Re: A dark forum theme?

Well if someone was to give me the images to the current theme it shouldn't take too long to cook up a black theme.

It looks like it came from here:
http://www.stsoftware.biz/free_phpbb3_styles.html

There are a number of dark themes there as well.

Yeah, it's definitely Halcyon.

Something like Hermes would be great.

Not sure if this is very relevant: https://crawl.develz.org/tavern/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6835

Look at the last reply from Napkin.
