Now YAVP - Angry Ant (FoBe)
Well they decided to release another trunk build so I gave it a go. After splatting a dozen hapless runners, I finally got a Formicid Berserker going.
It's sort of like playing a Chei game: you lose out on a couple key panic buttons so you need to be more careful positioning and choosing your opponents. The antennae is helpful for early warning, and the free dig is awesome for building zigzags. Losing out on Berserk is a bit of a bummer but really not that bad. I use Hand and Bro more in my Trog games anyway.
The .15 shield buff is helping my Fo survive longer and I'm looking forward to being able to use a long bow and a large shield at the same time.
The RNGs have been kind. Dropped platemail on D3, a +2 shield around D7 Lair, and sold me a +2 MR cloak for $180. Found a Vampiric whip early but it sucked compare to my +0 flail. Took a Freezing whip off Pikel and ditched that too. Stumbled on the Baily with the gnolls and their electric halberds--evil vault man, just evil. That's where I got my 70+ returning tomahawks.
Trog was dropping crap on me most of the game--swords, quarterstaves, xbows--until just before Lair. Then he made it up to me: +11 Freezing Great Mace. Nice. Thanks, Trog! Spiney Frogs just explode after one hit with that thing.
Also found Gold Dragon Hide on L2. Haven't found Enchant Armour yet, but as soon as I do, I'm switching over.
Question for the readers: Spanky found 3 Acquirement Scrolls. What do you think? Wands or Rods? Spanky's got no real escape options except summons and walking away. Which works fine with Bros, but if I can get a Shadow Critter Rod, that'd make it even better. Course I'll probably end up with three Rods of Striking instead... A Healing Wand would be nice, and Inviso wouldn't hurt but it's not crucial (didn't get Shoals and I can dig to deal with Draconians). Teleport and Haste would bite (unless the scroll is designed not to give those to Fos?). No point acquiring weapons and I think I'm doing alright with Armour with GDA and an MR cloak. Thoughts, suggestions?

Now grinding Depth. Its starting to feel a bit ridiculous with the amount of XP down here. Still no Heal Wounds wand though. (Used a 5th Acquirement on wands and got Teleportation. Pffft.)
