I object to these bonuses. It is very common for uniques to, e.g. wander into vault clouds and die, before they even come into LOS.

i take it you changed you decided against revealing the 5th and 6th challenges at the same time?

edit: Does that credit the player with the kill of said unique?

Oh hey, look, my least-favorite race I'm actually willing to play.
Oh hey, look, a class that I normally refuse to play.

If I do well this game I won't even know how I'll feel.

EDIT: Crawl had mercy on me and swarmed me with enemies. Whew.
Three wins: Gargoyle Earth Elementalist of Ash, Ogre Fighter of Ru, Deep Dwarf Fighter of Makhleb (0.16 bugbuild :( )

So if I go with Trog and one of my bros kills a unique that does not count, right? ... right?!

A unique dying, being banished, etc. will ALWAYS generate the milestone, regardless of how it died/got banished.

That's not a problem: I'm sure WalkerBoh will gladly read through the "Vanquished Creatures" section in every morgue and ensure that all milestones before Lair/Zot are either listed in "Vanquished Creatures (collateral kills)" or "Vanquished Creatures (others)" :-)

I wouldn't say "very common", but I am okay with this being slightly luck-based.

Yes, I decided against it.

I have never played as a kobold. Not even once. Not sure why not...
Anyway this will be a first for me.

Re: CSDC S2 Week 5 - KoHe

Well, that was stupid ... here I was congratulating myself on getting the tier II bonus, but the score sheet said otherwise. Sure enough, I look at my morgue and it was Boris TWICE on V:5 -- I obviously thought he was just an ancient lich both times. Argh! Oh well, I still had my best game so far, and actually added a win with a new god, race, and background to my list, which is still a big deal to a player like me. One more to go, and good luck to all.

Edit: On second thought, he must have been the invisible thing that almost killed me. That makes me feel both better (wasn't just my inattention) and worse (so close ...)

The good news for you is that you have such a stranglehold on Division 3 that the loss of those 2 pts won't matter too much. :)

"You can't wield armour."

This is the message when I try to put on a shield. What is this?

Due to their small size Kobolds have some item restrictions. The shield you're trying to put on is probably too big...

That's the message when you're trying to 'w'ield armour/shield, like it was a weapon, instead of 'W'earing it.
screw it I hate this character I'm gonna go melee Gastronok

For this message the author nago has received thanks:

Re: CSDC S2 Week 5 - KoHe

This combo was awful for me. My first one ended up kiting the first goblin I saw around D1 for about 2000 turns, picking up friends over time, before a monster with a double move and a dagger of venom killed me -- not immediately of course, but each hit poisoned me to a fatal level, then I'd drink curing or use a self-healing ability, and it'd hit me back to a fatal level.

The second game I got to XL 5, again with a lot of tedious kiting, before running into 2 goblins in a corridor. I pacified the front one, which let the back one shoot through it with a wand of cold, taking me below 50% health. I try to pacify it and get another bolt of cold in the face for my trouble, and now I'm at very low health. I heal myself, and it shoots again, sending me to -1 hp.

Whee.

I had a really good start this time, but died due to orc priest bullshit and forgetting to ID the scrolls in my inventory.

Found a +5 ring of slaying and boots of running by D3.

Re: CSDC S2 Week 5 - KoHe

I was feeling confident about my character, I guess too confident. I went into Vaults 1, was successfully handling it, but then i got marked and beat a hasty retreat to the exit. You'd think after getting marked I'd bother to check my MR resistance, but no, I just healed up, invoked divine vigor, then went back in, sure that I could quickly heal away all the threats. A great orb of eyes immediately paralyzed me, and a few ogres beat my helpless healer to death over the course of several turns, during which I had time to contemplate the artefact ring of MR++ in my pocket, the protection from death I could have invoked, the tele ring I could have evoked in case things went wrong, and other options while I went from 145hp->0 in effectively one turn. :/

I had a good shot. Until I got paralyzed by a miscast in Vaults. Total suckage.

Re: CSDC S2 Week 5 - KoHe

I wasn't expecting the orb of fire to get two fireballs off before my next turn. I forgot how fast they are. I had no way to deal with it anyway though. I could have at least gotten my divine protection up and had a few more turns to figure something out. Disappointing because I was so damn close, but it was a miracle to make it that far. I really was getting worn down by this character, I find healers to be very stressful and frustrating runs. I did get to Zot at level 20 at least for the CSDC bonus.

So far the only person to win all 5 games is Sphara.
