Oh, I just forgot that boulder beetles don't curve while orbs of destruction do, so actually they're not very good practice.

New enemy idea: Emperor Boulder Beetle. Can curl into a boulder and home on on you Orb of Destruction style.

Another possible idea: Avalanche Boulder Beetle. Can curl into a boulder, and then while he's rolling at you he starts spawning a whole bunch of boulders around him that roll at random angles towards you in a big shower. These spawned boulders explode on impact with anything, LRD-style.

We can start putting these guys in places like Orc Mines, or Tomb, and it would make the game better.

Those "appears out of thin air" monsters can be very annoying. Yesterday I got 3 Ancient Liches in Zot5 this way, fortunately not simultaneously.
What I loved in that Zot5 was my Spellbinder weapon paralyzing 2 Orbs of Fire and 2 Ancient Liches

My point was that without stat boost to damage which is given by Chei the monster would survive since stabbing damage for axes is not that large.

BTW I had one occasion when I "passwalled" to a sleeping monster and got immediately attacked. I guess I was unlucky and the monster waked up while I was "wallpassing" (I didn't have scry active so I am not sure what happened).

This is the first time I've got an AK to a rune level. Playing a KoAK, in Snake:5 I sneaked into the rune chamber, used Corruption and blinked away. I killed a few naga mages who had teleported away from the mayhem and went back in. Everyone was dead. Picked the rune from the empty chamber. Just amazing. Maybe even a bit too easy :)
