CiP: FeBe got 3 runes!

I'm starting to feel that I don't totally suck at this game. Doing Vaults:5 with a FeBe was one of the most intense experiences for me in Crawl. Next I'm going to do Zot:1-4. If I don't die, I'm going to try and get 3 more runes. I guess I'd try Abyss, Slime and then probably one from Pan. That'll be suicide I guess.

Btw. this is 0.13 so no wands. I have no idea whether I can deal with OoFs. Haven't even found an rMut amulet yet. Also how do I deal with TRJ should I get that far? If I manage to kill it, can I get to the rune vault with a stone of tremors? If not, there's no point to go there at all, since I can't dig and have no teleport control.

I'm having hard time keeping piety up. I just don't want to switch that GS amulet to faith. But I can't really use BiA much. I went to Crypt but decided to skip it, since I would only lose piety there (also left Mennas on Crypt:1). I could easily do Blade with invisibility, but waiting out the contamination would again decrease piety so I decided it's not worth it.

Too bad I have no use for that 4 levels in Necromancy :)

I'd advise against going into pan on this character. Keep the guardian spirit amulet, it's amazing on felid beserkers. You don't really need faith because without gifts you can stockpile trog piety pretty easily. Try to stay at 6*'s if you can. Faith is great, I'd wear it if you didn't have spirit, but you're getting almost +40% hp on a felid, where your hp is your critical weakness.

People don't typically go into pan to get one more rune. If you're going to pan, you're going for all 5 runes there [or rarely, to scum food or something silly]. Have you done extended before? I'm assuming not, since you're asking questions about TRJ and such. TRJ is best handled by a couple of BIA and your claws, watch out for being surrounded by spawns. You can either try to wedge yourself into the narrow hallways, or retreat and stairdance them. Stairdancing with 2-3 brothers is probably the safest way, but costs more piety, trying to fight in the hallway by yourself or with 0-2 brothers is less piety, but could be more risky.

You could certainly handle an orb of fire if you get it alone, make sure you wear the rF ring, and if you can find a second source of rF that would be very helpful also. Fireballs don't miss and you have 118 hp. Fighting an orb with anything else threatening would likely be fatal.

I'd finish off training unarmed combat before you bother raising fighting/stealth more, although if you want the stealth 27 title you aren't that far away from it. But unarmed is your primary skill, get those last levels. Zot has a lot of experience, shouldn't be too hard to max before zot:5.

You have more than enough elemental evokers to justify training evocations, once you're done with unarmed, if you'd like. They are quite powerful with some skill behind them.

Edit: Removed statement about you not having no evocations, you did train it already. You can still train it higher after unarmed if you like. Also the + mana will help with guardian spirit.

Thanks for the advice. The thing is that I've got a personal conduct of getting 6 runes now (going from 3 to 15 one rune at a time, last one was a 5-runer). I don't mind if I die in the attempt.

As for extended, I've only done Tomb, Slime and Abyss in 0.13. The rest of the extended I've done last in version 0.4.4 or something (had a few years' break from Crawl). I haven't meleed the current TRJ (VpVM used Freezing Cloud).

I found a great ring on Zot:1 (rF++ rC+ EV+4 Dex+2 Int+3). Cleared Zot 1-4. The reason that I've had trouble keeping piety up is that I've used invisibility a lot and spent considerable amounts of time waiting out the contamination.

Don't mind my skill training. I have my own system for it, which I know is unoptimal.
