Mummy Apt Rot
Reanimated by the darkest black magic around, Mummy's are strongest at that point, when the magic is fresh and powerful. Over time this magic gradually goes away, taking away talent(skill apts) as it decreases.

Every one of these goes down by 1 at character level 6, 12, 18, and 24. For example Necromancy starts out at 3, falls to 2 once your character hits level 6, 1 when you hit XL:12, 0 when you hit XL:18, and -1 when you hit XL: 24. Getting your first rune will stop decay of your apts. In other words, once you obtain your first rune of the game, the apt rot is cancelled for the rest of your game. Got the barnacled rune at XL:17? Your apts will stay where they are, and not decrease at XL:18 & XL:24.
